MKA is excited to present the all-new Model Dog Grooming Competition and Open Grooming Competition in July 2026, providing groomers, grooming students, and pet stylists with a platform to learn, exchange ideas, compete, and gain valuable competition experience!

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced groomer, you are welcome to join this exciting event filled with creativity and challenges! 🏆

Morning Session: MKA Model Dog Grooming Competition

Pure Breed Category
Participants may choose any recognised pure breed standard trim or show clip, demonstrating their understanding of breed profile, balance, symmetry, and breed standards.

Pet Styling Category
Showcase your commercial grooming and pet styling skills by creating practical, attractive, and stylish pet trims.
- Asian Fusion styles are welcome in this category.
- No colouring allowed.

Creative Grooming Category
Let your imagination run wild! Creative styling, artistic designs, themed grooming, and colour work are all welcome.
- Colouring allowed.

Afternoon Session: MKA Open Grooming Competition

Competition Levels:

  • Level C
  • Level B
  • Level A

The Open Grooming Competition is ideal for groomers who wish to gain competition experience and improve their skills without pursuing certification.

It also serves as an excellent opportunity to prepare for the 22nd MKA FCI International Grooming Competition & Certification to be held on 4 September 2026.

Open Grooming Competition – Rules

This is an Open Competition designed to allow flexibility, learning, and skill development.

  • Participants may compete in:
    • Their current level, OR
    • A different category within the same level, OR
    • A higher level to challenge themselves.
  • Important Rule:
    Participants are NOT allowed to enter a lower level than their current or recognised grooming level.
  • The purpose of this rule is to ensure fairness, skill integrity, and proper competition standards.
  • Participants are encouraged to choose their level based on skill, confidence, and professional development goals.
  • The organiser and judges reserve the right to review and adjust entries if necessary

  • Model Dog Grooming Competition: RM200
  • Open Grooming Competition: RM200
  • Enter BOTH competitions for only RM300
